About PedalPub St Pete

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK?

If you want a particular date and time, especially on a Friday or Saturday, you should book 2-3 weeks in advance.  Popular times/days sell out.

If you are flexible on your plans, you can usually book 4-5 days ahead of time.

All tours must be booked at least 24 hours in advance.

HOW DOES THIS THING WORK?

The PedalPub® is a 15 person, pedal-powered bar on wheels. All tours are two hours long. Please arrive 15 minutes in advance of your tour time but no earlier.

For Private Tours:

  • You can have up to 15 people. (Minimum of 8 people.)
  • Reserve a minimum of 24 hours in advance
  • Bring your own beer and wine, but no hard liquor and no glass

For Public/Mixer Tours:

Reserve a minimum of 24 hours in advance.
Bring your own beer and wine, but no hard liquor and no glass.
Although we do have some non-pedaling seats, all riders must be willing and able to pedal at all times or must leave the tour and will not receive a refund. (We have no motor, only you!)

*If you have a guest physically incapable of pedaling, please contact the company and we may be able to make arrangements.*

Public/Mixer Tours are not confirmed until at least 8 people have signed up. We will reach out to you 24 hours prior if your tour does not meet the required signups–and you can either reschedule or receive a full refund.

DO WE ALL NEED TO PEDAL?

There are 10 pedaling and 5 non-pedaling seats on each PedalPub. We have had pregnant women, people with bad knees, even a 94-year-old ride PedalPub!

For Public Tours: Although we do have some non-pedaling seats, all riders should be willing and able to pedal. (We have no motor, only you!)

For Private Tours: If you book the bike, there must be a minimum of 8 people willing to pedal. There are 10 pedaling seats on each bike and 5 non-pedaling seats.

HOW MANY PEOPLE DOES IT HOLD?

Up to 15 people. There are 10 pedaling seats, plus two seats over the axles that are non-pedaling. The bench seats three. We recommend a minimum of eight people to rent the PedalPub®.

If you don’t have 8-15 people in your group, please check out our Mixer Tours!

IS MY DATE AVAILABLE?

You can check availability by clicking HERE to find the date and time you’re looking for.

PLEASE NOTE : Your Credit Card will not be charged until you click CHECK OUT, so check as many dates as you want!

Public/Mixer Tours are not confirmed until at least 8 people have signed up.  We will reach out to you the day before if your tour does not meet the required signups–and you can either reschedule or receive a full refund.

IS THE ALCOHOL INCLUDED?

No, but you can bring your own! (Alcohol may only be consumed while seated on the PedalPub.)

You can bring beer, hard lemonade, hard cider, seltzer, and boxed wine. No hard liquor. No glass. No jello-o shots.

We recommend bringing two to three cans per person.  (You’ll be making 2-3 stops at bars and breweries.)

SHOULD I BRING A COOLER?

You can bring your own (any size except those enormous Yeti coolers) or use one of our coolers–just bring ice and your beverages and you’re good! Two to three beverages/person is perfect!

WHERE CAN I BUY BEVERAGES FOR MY TOUR?

If you need tour supplies: beer, wine, ice, etc., the best place to stop is Discount Food Mart! It is a small, family-owned convenience store (say hi to Freida if she’s working!) located less than ½ mile from the PedalPub “Hub” where tours start/end.

WHAT ABOUT THE WEATHER?

All tours run RAIN OR SHINE, HOT OR COLD, LIGHTNING OR BLUE SKIES so plan your outfit accordingly!

Riders are covered by the roof and we do have free ponchos if you need them.

CAN I RENT MORE THAN ONE PEDALPUB®?

Yes, we have three bikes and can handle groups of up to 45 people.  They can be reserved on our website–just make new reservations for each one.

Plan carefully though, and make sure you have enough people for each bike. Please refer to our cancellation policy.

Tandem Tour Tipping: There tends to be a “diffusion of responsibility” with larger groups on two or more bikes. Please keep this in mind and have one person per bike be responsible for gathering tips for the Pilots. If you would like to add a tip in advance on your credit card, just let us know.

WHO CAN RIDE? WHAT ARE THE PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS?

Pretty much any adult-type person!  All riders must be at least 21 years old.

The bike seats can hold up to 300 lbs. The back bench seat has no restrictions.

For Public Tours:  Although we do have some non-pedaling seats, all riders should be willing and able to pedal at all times.  (We have no motor, only you!)

For Private Tours:  If you rent the entire bike and have enough people (at least eight) to pedal during the tour, you’re good to go even if you can’t pedal!  There are five non-pedaling positions on the bike.  You’ll just have to talk your friends into sweating/pedaling for you!

*If you have a guest physically incapable of pedaling, please contact the company and we may be able to make arrangements.*

We have had pregnant women, blind people, and even a 94-year-old ride with us!

WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?

Our cancellation policy is as follows:

  • Over 10 days: 50% refund or reschedule
  • 5-10 days: Reschedule
  • Under 5 days: No refund or reschedule

All tours run RAIN OR SHINE, HOT OR COLD, LIGHTNING OR BLUE SKIES!

Booking a PedalPub is like buying tickets to a concert or seats to a ball game. We cannot make exceptions to the cancellation policy due to illness, car accidents, missed flights, family issues, etc. Booking holds spots so we schedule staff and turn away customers who could otherwise have purchased the time slot being booked.

WHAT ARE THE RULES?

City licensing requirements hold us to a standard. The Pilot will go over the rules and behavior expectations at the beginning of your tour. Most of these are outlined on the waiver. If you act in a dangerous or unruly manner, you may be asked to leave, and could be charged the behavior violation fee. We want to be good neighbors as well as help you to have a great time!

WHAT ARE SOME TIPS FOR A SUPER FUN RIDE?

Bring a small cooler with your beverages & ice.  Two to three beverages per person is perfect.  (You’ll be going into bars and breweries.)  Bring a snack, too, if you wish.

Bring CASH – preferably lots of ones!  Some bars don’t take credit cards.

Be patient! Our bars and breweries are trying to serve all of you at once, PLUS their regular customers. When you are at a stop, have one person place the order and have one person pay for the entire order, if possible. (It takes a long time to run 15 different credit cards!)

Follow the Pilot’s directions and stay on time.

WHAT'S THE WAIVER ALL ABOUT?

Just like riding any bike, riding the PedalPub® can be potentially dangerous. We offer bike helmets for your safety. You don’t have to wear one – that’s up to you. You take responsibility if you bump your noggin’ or behave badly. Click HERE to review a copy of our waiver
